Gregory Sarlo, Psy.D. - Dr. Sarlo, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, is the Founder, Clinical Director, and Director of Training of Psychological Consultations. A graduate of The Adler School of Professional Psychology, Dr. Sarlo has worked with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, and Questioning (LGBTQ) communities for more than 20 years. He served as the President of the Illinois Psychological Association (IPA) from 2008-2009 and again from 2010-2011, and is a longtime member of the American Psychological Association (APA). Dr. Sarlo currently serves as Adjunct faculty for Midwestern University. He is a former Core Faculty member at The Adler School of Professional Psychology (ASPP), where during his tenure he served as program Director of Adler's Masters in Counseling and Masters in Organizational Counseling programs, as well as the Program Coordinator of Clinical Qualifying Examinations. Dr. Sarlo provides clinical supervision and training for graduate students and is working actively to help find ways to place Psychology Graduate Interns within Illinois; as president of the IPA Dr. Sarlo played a key role in starting IPAPIC, a consortium of internship training facilities. In the past Dr. Sarlo served for 5 years as a steering committee member and chair of the Midwest Association of Gay and Lesbian Psychologists. He also works with the HIV impacted community conducting studies and neuropsychological testing. In addition Dr. Sarlo is one of the founding members of The Association of Chicagoland Externship and Practicum Training Sites (ACEPT), and founding past President. He continues to focus on the area of diversity in the professional psychological community. In 2009 Dr. Sarlo was the recipient of the Adler Faculty Award for Outstanding Service to the Community. Dr. Sarlo was also the recipient of the Jennifer Manfre, Psy.D. Award for Outstanding Service to Graduate Students in Illinois, and the Distinguished Illinois Psychologist Award, both awarded during the 2009 Annual IPA Convention. In 2010 Dr. Sarlo was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Adler Alumni Association and received the HOPE award from Sierra Tucson.

Daniel Brewer, Psy.D. - Dr. Brewer has been a member of the Psychological Consultations team since 2003, and currently serves as a therapist and as the Assistant Clinical Director for the practice, and is currently license eligible. Dr. Brewer has generalist training in psychotherapy, with experience working with adolescents and adults, in individual, couples, and group formats. Dr. Brewer has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University, and a Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Illinois School of Professional Psychology, part of Argosy University. Dr. Brewer continues to serves as Adjunct faculty at The Adler School of Professional Psychology, where he began teaching in 2008. Dr. Brewer has taught a number of courses in their Counseling and Doctoral Programs, including Group Psychotherapy, Biopsychosocial Bases of Health and Dysfunction for Counselors, Individual Appraisal for Counselors in Practice, and Theories of Psychotherapy. Specializing in work with gay men, Dr. Brewer has experience working with identity and coming out issues, as well as substance abuse, depression, and anxiety. He is active with both IPA and APA. Dr. Brewer is involved with IPA leadership, served as Co-Chair of the 2010 IPA Convention Committee, and is active with the Early Career Psychologist Section.

Katy Crone, Psy.D. - Dr. Crone has been part of the Psychological Consultations team since 2009 and is currently the Associate Director of Training. She graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Gender Studies from the University of Notre Dame in 2005; Dr. Crone received her Masters in Clinical Psychology in 2008 and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2011 from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She conducts individual therapy with children, adolescents, and adults, and utilizes a Relational approach within group therapy. Dr. Crone specializes in adolescent development and young adult issues such as struggles with identity, relationships, and major life transitions. Dr. Crone also works with survivors of trauma and abuse, and has experience working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, and behavioral concerns. She previously served as a therapist and diagnostician in school, community mental health, and residential settings. Dr. Crone currently serves as an adjunct faculty at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology where she teaches Doctoral and Masters level courses in Clinical Skills and Diagnostic Interviewing as well as Cognitive and Affective Bases of Psychology.

Ryan Kerzman, M.A. - Mr. Kerzman has been part of the Psychological Consultations team since 2011. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Clinical Science from the University of North Dakota in 2006; Mr. Kerzman earned his Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the The Illinois School of Professional Psychology, part of Argosy University in 2010, and is currently completing his Pre-Doctoral Internship through the IPAPIC at Psychological Consultations under licensed supervision. Mr. Kerzman anticipates receiving his Doctorate of Psychology in July of 2012. Mr. Kerzman enjoys working with whole family systems, and specializes in work with couples dealing with relationship difficulties as well as couples who have lost a child or whose child is critically ill. Mr. Kerzman also specializes in working with families who have a teenage child or a parent struggling with substance abuse and/or addiction as well as families with a child experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and behavioral concerns. Mr. Kerzman also has experience working with adolescent and college-age students as they struggle through issues related to identity development, relationships, major life transitions, and academic achievement.
